This tank doesnt have an overflow, so thats why I am going to go with a canister 
I have heard nothing but good things about them. It's the FX5 that I will be getting to go with my 120g. Sure...... it may be a bit of overkill, but you can never have too much filtration.Rich
Actually this is a great filter... but you would be better off posting this question in the filtration section as more people with opinions will see it in there

I like mine....I will probably get another for my 240 and replace the Mag350. I really find the baskets quite nice cause you can just load them up with whatever media you like. If you're a cheap ass like me...pot scrubbers.

i have found all 3 of mine to be pretty decent, i did have an issue with a pump but it was replaced by Hagen with no problems.
i would recommend you just fill the baskets with bio media, i have and left the standard sponges around the baskets and it works fine.

They are an excellent filter, weve got one on our 180 and after christmas will be getting one for our 150.
Likes- high turnover and ribbed hoses, inovative design, easy to clean, price
Dislikes - Sediment from ceramic rings tend to get get lodged in impeller well causing it to stop spinning.

I have 3 of them. Overall it's an awesome canister but I don't like taking the motor off to clean it...they made the screws too small and chintzy.
