Fluval FX5

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:thumbsup:I have heard nothing but good things about them. It's the FX5 that I will be getting to go with my 120g. Sure...... it may be a bit of overkill, but you can never have too much filtration.

Actually this is a great filter... but you would be better off posting this question in the filtration section as more people with opinions will see it in there :D

I like mine....I will probably get another for my 240 and replace the Mag350. I really find the baskets quite nice cause you can just load them up with whatever media you like. If you're a cheap ass like me...pot scrubbers.

stndfsh

p.s. BUY IT ON EBAY!!

Love both of mine

i have found all 3 of mine to be pretty decent, i did have an issue with a pump but it was replaced by Hagen with no problems.
i would recommend you just fill the baskets with bio media, i have and left the standard sponges around the baskets and it works fine.

Likes- high turnover and ribbed hoses, inovative design, easy to clean, price
Dislikes - Sediment from ceramic rings tend to get get lodged in impeller well causing it to stop spinning.

otherwise great filter

I have 3 of them. Overall it's an awesome canister but I don't like taking the motor off to clean it...they made the screws too small and chintzy.
