Has any one brought one of these fliters as yet, if so what is your verdict. They look good, seems no mess when changing the filters

the people at my LFS have had the display up for months now and have not sold one.

but they are able to sell FX5's though. I guess its about value for your money.

in these tough economic times, selling a small filter with little media for $500 is tough, because the main selling point is the bells and whistles (the probes)- most of which are of limited benefit..at least for that price.

Here in Canada they are selling for $700....
$700 for a filter that can handle the bioload of my 30g shellie tank just isnt worth it to me.
I'm not too crazy about the whole on screen display either. To me testing water and checking filters etc is part of the hobby and i do enjoy doing it. There are much better canister filters out there for half the price.

IMHO hagen dropped the ball on this one. I wont be purchasing one of them.

I do like the new design of the bio media. It looks like it may be competitive with substrat pro. Next time I'm setting up a tank I'll probably try it in an FX5.
