Yeah I set one up for a friend (who bought it without asking my advice). It hold less biomedia then a Eheim 2217 and I wasn't sold on the cartridge filter concept thinking it might clog up a lot. After a week running on his 150g cichlid tank he called me ...flow had dropped a lot. I went round and we changed out the cartridge (easy to do thank god) it was clogged solid.
The design of it isn't great ....too much water trying to be filtered through a cartridge with too little surface area .... its going to clog up a lot.
If you want to spend a lot of money on a top notch filter ...go buy a Eheim Pro 3.
The G6 is basically a gimmick wrapped in a marketing brochure .
Overpriced
Overhyped
Under performs ....
:grinno:
I agree with everything except the eheim pro3 recommendation... I prefer the classics myself. ;)

for that kind of money; might we well go for couple of eheims or fx5s.
id rather invest my money into Heavy Duty type builds, design rather than a shiny, gimmicky approach.

any how, if A person needs a LCD screen to remind himself to do a WC, may be fish keeping is not for that person. lol

Great GPH and filter media is key.

ya for the bang for the buck..eheim 2262..all the way.. youre looking at 400 or so $ for the 2262.:naughty:

Or a G6 for probably 1/2 the eheims capability and far short of its capacity, for 600$ :screwy:... so.. it kinda..leans tward an eheim! :headbang2
