was just reading about the fluval G6 and saw that it has a nitrate removal cartridge. This thing work? Exhaust fast?

Depend how big your tank, your current live stock and current nitrate level it might work if you have low nitrate level, it won't change anything if you have high level of nitrate. It's money sink cause Fluval asking you to change the cartridge every 14 days LOL.

Increase your drip? as long as the water you add is low in nitrates...

Thanks but tank is in a drip. I want to go even lower.
I used to live in NJ (Freehold) long time ago and back there NJ water line really good though, tap water come out at neutral 7 PH and nitrate undetectable if not 0 ppm.
You have a drip system so you shouldn't have Nitrate problem unless you're way over stocked and overfeed your fish.
*JWH suggested a good option too.

there is nitrate in my tap. looking at cartridges to remove that. This has gotten fairly off topic.

Well, you can try it out and let us know the result.
I doubt that gonna help nor do anything to your Nitrate.
Trust me my tap water got some Nitrate too and I ignored others suggestion, I bought 2 units and tested out myself...The result is "I wasted my money and Fluval laugh at my face...Another loser fall by their ads"

I always read zero nitrate, even after a week or more. Your best bet is bacteria... but it's your setup, you need to work it out.
