A trick for you canister fans,

A very thin film of vasiline (petroleum jelly) on the O-ring will seal stubborn leaks and make removal and installation of the lid easier.
 
he didnt ask if anyone thought that he should get a different filter. every time a question about a filter comes up many peoples response is [get an eheim]. that is not always an option for everybody all the time..
 
You gotta watch the intake/outlet hoses where they join the canister. If they are not tightened all the way, the thing will leak like a seive. If you keep on top of it, Fluvals are good filters (although I broke down and bought an Eheim for my cichlid tank) :woot:
