Fluval U2 filter position.

I have a fluval U2 in my small 12gal and was wondering if I could position the filter horizontally?

I have read the manual and it hasn't mentioned that you can't, but I thought I would double check first.

If you have gravel or bare bottom give it at try. If you have sand I would avoid it because you wouldn't want it to get clogged.
