its not pumping

i replaced the primer thing... work for a week and now wont pump.////\

bubbles come out of the outlet.... what should i do.... replace the hoses?

when every you change the fluval.. it always shoots out bubbles when u frist put it back on...

wouldent it leak out the back also ??

i pour water down the hose and it dosent leak

Hmm. Mine was shooting out bubbles when the connection from the hose to the intake tube fitting was dried out and cracked. I know that's a lame description. The little fitting that the hose and tube go into. Might check that.

mine shoots bubbles out if there is air in the canister, is it brand new?? or newly set up to that tank?? as it could still have air in, just leave it for 15-20mins (if somthing is oging horible worng stop it), thats what i do when i instal a new filter hope this helps :)

im sure he knows that... if you dont zach im gonna slap ya:D

i agree. if its bubbling directly from the outlet at the canister, new hoses would work. if that isnt the case, a gasket replacement will probably solve things.

Which Fluval is it ? FX5 ?

My fluval FX5 shoots bubbles out of it but it does that purposely it releases any trapped air which maybe caught in the canister.

I have had this problem with a lot of my fluvals. The problem is for most tanks the height is too high for the pump. The primer on fluvals kinda sux, I don't even use mine. Get everything hooked up, and take the output hose and suck on it, and breath through your nose. Sounds wierd but it works. Don't break the seal with your mouth. Once all the air has been pulled you'll hear the water start to flow. Once you hear this plug in the fluval and away it goes. Bubbling will occur still as it gets rid of the air still trapped inside the canister, but in a few minutes that will all go away.
