I've been feeding my pig nose Rep Cal Bearded Dragon pellets for the past 2.5 years now.
I dont think that is a good idea:grinno: They have completly diferent dietary needs

the rep-cal bearded dragon food contains 29% protein, close enough to reptomin . been feeding my pnt this for a couple years now and he's doing fine. so :lipsseale, its only 30 dollars for a 5 lb bag, which goes a long way.

Hi all!

I just picked up a baby FRT on the weekend and it has been settling in great. Constantly digging into the sand and sleeping. When he does awake, it forages for food. Im currently feeding it cherry tomatoes which it loves. It also managed to down a sizeable piece of market prawn which i feed to my other fish. Anyone have any luck with cucumbers and zuchinni's?

zucchini is fine provided you can keep it firmly in place. Don't use anything sharp. Also try frozen peas, carrots, lima beans, corn (I dropped thawed frozen veggie mix in my FRT tanks). Also, kiwi is an excellent fruit to offer. Also offer your turt occassional cut earthworm, sinking sticks, chopped raw shrimp, cut mussel meat, white raw fish meat, etc. As the FRT grows, its need for animal proteins increases.

Check out the FRT info sticky at the top of this forum.

Congrats on your new pick up of the BEST turtle ever..! :headbang2What size is your new pet?
Every time i feed it cucumbers... it just looks at it and swims away... I'm gonna try Zucchinis next.

Thanks and i agree its one of the best turtles to own! I stumbled on this great pet when a friend suggested it to me. He told me this turtle was fully aquatic, this got me interested right away. A turtle which has similar needs to your regular fish, and can be kept alongside without to much issues! All ticks in my book =)

Going with the size, the shell is approx 8-10cm i think its approx 3 months old. I used this website for a comparison. http://www.chelodina.com/10.htm

I agree the little fella is more active at night, when the only light available is my moonlight. At this time you can see him foraging for food. I will post pics up soon in a separate thread.

I currently keep him in a 180G tank with a host of other fish, which they seem to be leaving him alone.

- 1 Green Aro 30cm
- 2 RTGG
- 2 Blood Parrots
- 2 pleco's
- 1 King Kong
- 2 Pakistani loaches
- 3 Clown Loaches
- 5 Flag tails
- 5 Frontosa Kigoma (these have been sold)

The little guy has rounded my tank of nicely. Hopefully i wont have to upgrade anytime soon.

I'll try feeding my little male named "Pigsy" different fruit this weekend.

to the original poster, where did you get your turtle i haven't seen one to date in Canada ?
