Mine is about 7 years old and has never had UV light.

What kind of food's you feeding? How big is he? Sound's like s stud!

Has he had a pretty healthy life?

Anybody have a clue, on the zoomed's food? There's three fully Aquatic Turtle food's..

They're really specific feeders, keeping them on pellet diets is going to make them lethargic - in my experience that's what happens anyway.

Try to stick to a diet that consists of raw vegetation.

Mine loves kiwi and shrimp. That is his primary diet mixed in with other fruits and veggies throughout the week. Sometimes he gets his flippers on some algae wafers now and then.

He's about 8" or so, and as far as I know he's always been in great health. I think I am his 2nd owner. Still new to FRTs and learning as I go.

You feed that only? If you dont have ligths then you need a sorce of vit D3 or otherwise it cant absorve the calcium from the food. Ad turtle or big fish pellets wich already satisfy all protein and D3 needs and ad some more vegetable food items like turnip greens and stuff like fish, clams,etc.
