any and all info would help...they are as expensive as hell for me to get ($400-$500) for 4-6" shell length so i want as much input from people who are expeirenced with them as possible... thanks all for any help

Main things to look out for are eye clarity, shell fungus, shell curl, and its current eating habits.
thanks although they look awesome and i found a way to get one... i dont feel like it would be a good choice for me to get one after reading that article...both for the sake of money lost that i may take and the life of an innocent rare beautiful animal...so anyone else who reads this thread ....

other than the fact that they get huge, I didn't find much difficulty in keeping them.
even though I've only had two (during different times) for a short while, they were relatively easy to care for. just like fish, they simply need clean water, proper diet, and compatible tankmates.
