Hey guys I've have my 75G up and running for almost a week now. Doing a fishless cycle. Added pure ammonia and it's at a steady 4.0ppm still. (I hope it drops soon..). I've also added some Stability to "help" speed up the cycle process which I doubt it is doing. But anyway I noticed something today. What appears to me many tiny bubbles or alge or something floating on the surface.. When I stir up the water it creates lots of little bubbles. Is this normal? What is it.

the first pic is after I stirred up the water a little. The 2nd pic is before I did that. (I know, sorry I uploaded them backwards)
And if It helps, I have a FX5 with prefilter, fluval carbon, water polishing pads and biomax. I have plenty of surface movement as well from the Fx5's output nozzle

Ive had a little before too it went away after the tank was established. Give it a few weeks, also wc help too but don't eff ur cycle up. U can also skim some out with a net a few times.

Actually looking at the pics again that just looks like a little debris from substrate or calcium, nothing bad.

So I shouldnt worry about it? I thought maybe it was the Stability stuff Ive been putting in daily to help speed up the cycle process.

I Agreed with f1 vet. Probably small pieces of substrate floating up. The stability can cause bubbles and an oily looking film on the top of your water. Sometimes it is best to just let the water cycle naturally instead of trying to speed it up.

Alright. Well I'll stop using it then. Doesn't seem to be helping much anyway.

One thing I do sometimes, some people calk it a little inhumane, I put some feeder goldfish in and they're bacteria helps things move along. Then you can feed them to someone.
