It would make sense to eat humans - we are the most dangerously overpopulated species on the planet!

It would take pressure off other species which we eat and are declining rapidly and also slow the population explosion of humans! Geez you could package it into McDonalds burgers and no one would know the difference!

Kuru is the disease you are thinking of and is caused by lesions in the brain made by prion tainted human nerve and brain tissue, It was first discovered in New Guinea and is the human version of Mad Cow disease.
I don't know about humans but the meat from howler monkeys is quite sweet but the horse I tried had a slight peppery taste.
