hello everyone

my new snowball pleco is 2 inchs and how should i feed him i have hikari algae wafers, wardley spurina discs, and I plan to get some carnivore pellets but how much should i feed him?( he is small 2 in") he has some competition 2 cories and a loach so they get alot of the food to not to mention my swordtail ( he will get most of the food if i dont trick him) so some problems for him. wat time should i feed him? and how should i get the carnivore pellets so he gets them and not everyone else. i cant put to much food the fish will get fat but like i said he has some trouble getting the food. any help would greatly appreciated!

mine love yams, watermelon, cucumber. check out the pleco stickys on here they should help you out.

There are a lot of black-based, white spotted plecos, but if the snowball you are referring to is Hypancistrus Inspector (which I'm assuming it is), these are carnivorous plecos and so much of their diet should be protein-based. I use bloodworm, brine shrimp, market prawn and hikari massivore/carnivore with all my hypans. They will also appreciate the occasional slice of zucchini, and mango is a favourite treat among most plecos.

Hypans are notoriously shy, and it's not often that you will see him eating. Feeding right before you turn out the lights at night is best, and monitor him to ensure he's healthy.

Mine likes squash, peas and shrimp. Also eats the pellets.

thx for the info ill try some of that but imm pretty sure its a snowball it has the characteritsic BIG eyes. and also the store i got him from doesnt have any other black and white pleco( small store easy to see all the fish pretty quick) but how should i get the shrimp to him? like i said the swordtail gets almost everything. he gets my baby shrimp when i put it in. the pleco he is very shy he normally hides when i come in. thx for any info!

You should determine what species it is before deciding what foods are best. Hypancistrus, Baryancistrus and Scobiancistrus all have species and L numbers that could be called 'snowballs' and have different needs.

I cant get a good pict right now i cant figure out wether hes an Hypancistrus, Baryancistrus, or Scobiancistrus for sure but ill get a pict up soon just got to catch him in the right spot hes only 2 in" so whatever one he is it might be hard to tell since he so small
