try to cut up some small pieces of market shrimp... it takes some time to get them adjusted to them but in the long run, shrimp is a cheaper feed. but a mixed diet of shrimps, fish, and flakes would be ideal.
try training him on pellets, still the best guarantee for all around nutrition. hikari is a good brand. and never forget variety, crickets, worms, shrimp, etc.....
Pinkies are also great food. If the aro doesn´t eat it try rub it to food he does eat. Do the same if your fish doesnt eat pellets but if he does eat crickets.
