Food options for large Jardini

Hi you mentioned beef heart... can you please explain further or post a photo of what it looks like that you feed your fish? I am totally confused if i should go to the market and ask my butcher for beef (cow) heart chop it up and feed my Arowana.... sorry for the noob question
 
Beef heart is extremely high in protein and i personally would not use it as a staple. I feed my aros market shrimp, Hikari massivore pellets and carrot gut loaded superworms as a treat. Younger aros get more meat while adults get more pellets as growth slows.
 
My aros live floating cichlid pellets from kensfish. They're extremely cheap too at only $3 per half pound.

Beef heart can be bought in frozen blister packs ready prepared from lfs's its much easier and a lot less messy ;):D

Are these pellets hard or moist? I may have to try this with my fish.
 
They're hard but do get soft quickly. Kind of like hikari cichlid gold.
