Raw meat like beefhearts are also fed to discus, arowanas, catfishes, etc. Mammalian protein is okay once in awhile but not as a staple diet due to it being hard to digest. I feed my loaches hotdogs once in awhile and the last time I did was last month as I was busy ordering snails and monitoring what I have.lol Heck, you'll be surprised when I prepare my snail jello for the inverts, it has honey, calcium pills, baby foods and then gelatin.
