Ours is in with spotted gars and spotted pike characins,although as he grows the pikes will be at risk,so he will be moved on.Ours eats whole mussels and prawn,and has now taken a liking to the gars whitebait,much to my and their irritation.

Yeah, I always make sure I do a salt bath on the feeders. 20 minutes is a little long, though, they usually don't live very long after an extended bath like that. Unless I'm just dumping too much salt in the bucket.
Either way, the only close calls I've had with parasites came from nasty pet shop goldfish feeders. Thats good to hear! Just reduce the ammount of salt you are putting in and then they can bathe a little longer!
