Foods for best growth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I experience something like that with bloodworm and tubifex. Take a tupperware or glad container to the LFSwith you. Ask them to cut the package and put the product into the container for you. While you're shopping have them put your container back into the freezer. Just remember to take it with you when you leave. If done properly you could just shake some from the container when you feed it and it won't require you touching it.

Your maintenance looks fine.

Just add a variety of foods and food with protein.

Hmm.. ok.. I will "attempt" it then. Every frozen food I've purchased from the LFS so far I have been allergic to it. Bloodworms and krill.

mine is growing alot . is 12cm now and eats prawns, blodworms, krill, some of is tankmates:( 2 ottos and 3 kribs.
is almost hiding in the floting plants or burrid in the gravel. not very active but whit food he goes like a bullet to get it:D .
i do 50% water changes week so my fish look fine

yup a variety of meaty high protein foods coupled with lots of water changes are the key to growth. you might want to try soaking or even injecting vitamins in the food you feed. have you tried feeding smelt or tilapia fillets? my wolf fish loves those foods. frozen smelt is only a little over a dollar at the asian food market around my way. earthworms like night crawlers are high in protein as well but they can sometimes be risky because you don't know if they were raised around chemicals or what not.

Get your lfs or a friend to pop the frozen blood worms into a container as mentioned above then get yourself some salad tongs and hold the cube of bloodworms in front of a power head and it will blow thawed bloodworm around your tank. All done.

Definitely feed bloodworms, krill, and OMEGA ONE! This is the best pellet/flake food on the market. Also consider Hikari Carnivore and Bio-Gold.

I'm allergic to bloodworms too.

Had the same reaction. It was awful.
