Footprint large enough?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awwwww :D Alright...Well ive decided to make the tank 20'' high. I need a permit for keeping rays here and I dont think its worth the trouble. But if the laws change then I will definitely get some.

Thank you guys so much.

If you are at college, will this be in a bed room? Fx5 will hum like you would not believe, they are very loud if you want ti try and sleep next to one.

A sump will gurgle all night long.

In my opinion you need more than one filter so that if you clean one e other is left undisturbed.

The fx5 should be fine. Will you be able to do large weekly water changes?

I have my tank in my bedroom and i have an fx5 running on it along with other canisters and honestly as long as you keep the air out of it its as quiet as a mouse

It is the hum from the pump that I find unacceptable. I have had externals for over 15 years and they all hum to sum degree and it's down to the way they work but as e fx5 is so large it makes much more noise.

I was an early adoptee so they may have improved the design?

i have 2 fx5s in my bedroom and in the stand they are quiet. The only loud thing is if the nozzles are facing the surface creating lots of surface movement.
