No im not single. Im very happily married.

Moshmarine, where did i say never listen to your wife? A marriage is two people sharing their lives together, not one person controlling another. If your girlfriend needs to always have the last say and controls what you do then you get married, how you think the rest of your life is going to be?

Men that dont make decisions for themselves are weak, and need their wives to control them so as they have no responsibility. It just seems to run in this hobby in large numbers.

And as for you bigdaddymagnum? i find the irony of your username amusing.

Ever heard the saying you can't teach a old dog new tricks. Same goes for people. You should of known she was going to control your every breath before hand. Let this be a warning to all that are not married yet. Think about the future be for you sign your life away. If she won't let you be a man while your single, chances are you get the same treatment when you are married. Good luck on your life and keep her dog groomed good or no more fishes for you. I can hear the whip crack all the way over here.

Taking your wife's opinion and discussing the outcome together is not being "whipped"- it is living like a responsible adult. Saying the wife "let" you have another tank doesn't mean your whipped, it means that she approved and is supporting. If she say's no, there might be a good reason. Stop being childish people. Marriage is for life, hobbies aren't.

I admit, I feel pretty whipped. My wife won't let me get any fish that she doesn't like. So instead of a reasonable FW puffer for the 55 once the Stupid Green Terror finally starves himself to death, it has to be Angelfish. Frickin' angelfish. I've been keeping fish for about five years and I have to revert to angelfish! Not even Discus because she associates them with someone she didn't like. And forget about catfish! My holy grail of fishkeeping, the barbeled wonders of every continent are available to me and she wants stupid angelfish! But if I stand up to her and remind her that it was my hobby to begin with, she would probably submit. Then I'd lose some of those 'good husband' points which are so hard to come by as it is, you know? So I leave it as it is, but the pressure is rising...

now you see thats actually amusing cause you see, maybe you should read what u wrote cause you answered and prooved my case, EQUAL my statement was aimed toward yippe who stated."put your foot down" well maube in his barbaric mind he can stomp around barking orders but thats not how i roll as far as yippe finding my username ironic i am a big daddy cause i treat my fiance with respect and like a man should, maybe youd want some man barking orders and "putting his foot down" with ur sister/mother but id want mine treated with respect, as far as bieng whipped im far from it due to the fact i make my fiance feel important when i make a decision and she gives her imput, its called self worth and if u make her feel like shes living with a brute who throws orders she will come down even harder with trying to "whip" you...

Clearly your over come by your own ignorance mate. I have never "told" my wife to do anything, and she has never told me to do anything either.

If you read my above post you have understood this. There is a difference between talking about things and having a difference of opinion and being a ****ing pussy. I love my wife, i work hard too support her and i love, protect and respect her, her input and any decisions she makes in her life. And she does the same for me.

If "your" woman doesnt understand your love for a hobby, then clearly she doesnt understand you! and even if she doesnt understand your hobby, noone has the right to rule your life. Like i said in my post above that you seem to completely ignored, marriage is two ppl sharing their lives together not one controlling the other. And as you said your not even married yet, give it a couple of years of your wife "controlling you" and we will see who ends up in divorce first, you or me.
