they ate!!!! its glorious!!!! pawned off my tetras today for store credit and bought angels. knifefish was out immediately but stayed out for the duration of the night with them, and no fin nipping or aggression was seen. my larger knifefish at first mouthed a piece of bloodworm, but then about a minute later watched him eat one. oh it made me so happy!!!! no idea.... its just one small step til hes eating like normal.

p.s. alot better than not eating at all i might add.

p.s. my tank now consists of angels, a swordtail (a very fat one i might add, he gorges on bloodworms), and my two knifefish. although i am going to stick to keeping two instead of getting another one so i dont interfere with this precious balance that has become my tankmates.

news it that my other knifefish is showing the same slime coating thing as the one that died. but it did eat last night, ill see how it goes as for tonight, but will be doing water change tomorrow.

yeah it seems to be moving from knifefish to knifefish. i have no idea why. water parameters are pretty much perfect, but the little one is showing no signs of illness. yeah he stopped eating. all thats in the tank is angelfish and a swordtail.

ok. so i went to get medication for that big knifefish, and came home with it about to use it and he was dead already. but ill keep it and use it if the little one gets the same stuff, but it treats the exact symptoms that they were having, called a "body fungus". picked up some tubifex worm cubes. now all i have left is the healthy looking active little knifefish, hope he still lasts. if he decides to conk out on me ill be goin to a BGK.
