for all the people that have had pbass shipped to them

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe Iv'e just been lucky but I just dump my new fish into the tank when I get them from vendors. Even $200 fish and have had no probs. This includes pbass as well.

Im assumming my method has worked because all the fish have been healthy......."disclaimer".

I'm just to lazy to go through the acclimation, drip etc. method.

I always drip. IMO, floating a bag is pointless. I'd be more concerned with the difference in PH than the difference in temp.

thats why u poke holes in it with a fork a few times:screwy:

I agree. PH shock is what you should be worried about. I killed some pbass in less than 5 minutes by just dumping them in. When I checked the ph, my tank and the water they came in were waaaaaaay different. After that day I always acclimate new fish. But I don't always drip. Sometimes I'll just mix water slowly. On young or delicate fish, I'll drip.

lol u guys dont get it. pokeing holes in bag with a fork an leting float is the same thing as a drip, it gradualy gets ph an temp the same as tank, just like a drip. yes drip is more effective id say. but if u say floating bag is point less so is a drip. he is trying to see if there is something easy is uncle can do thats easy. its not rocket science. lol u guys..... floating bag is pointles....s but drip isnt lol, same concept sillys:ROFL:

What makes you think we're referring to your comment? Anybody with half a brain knows that floating a bag with holes is different than floating a bag with no holes. I'm almost positive frnchjeep was referring the comment right above his, post #15, as was I.

Your way of doing things mixes water from an outside source and has more chance of infecting your tank with a virus than drip acclimating.

A great point that I failed to mention. I NEVER introduce shipping water into my tank. You never know what could be in there.
