SW rays and sharks arent illegal. But where can u find a list of illegal sw fish? The fw list is easy to find but ive never found the sw one.

I lived in CA for 20 years and never understood that law. It's legal to fish them and retain dead specimens. But, it's illegal to fish them and retain them alive.

True gar are uncommon in LFS, but there are several other fish such as hujeta, cachorro, needle fish, and boullengerella that are sold as gars.
