The woman who gave him to me didn't clean the tank very often. The whole thing was gross and had to be scrubbed with an algae scraper. We had to rinse the BLACK gunk out of the gravel 4 times!! Even with our siphon, we had to fill it half full each time we ran out of water!! She also fed him 1 frozen cube every other day!!
The tank he's in now is kept as clean as possible. And he's fed twice daily, but he'll only eat once every day or so, so everything uneaten gets fished out and tossed in the trash. The tilapia chunks are frozen until needed, then thawed and tossed in.
