for those who doubt there 2x4 stands

First time posting pics hope this works.
I took these pics at a lfs. This is a stand for a 265 gallon tank they sell. There just quick cell phone shots. Makes me trust my 2 x 4 stand a lot more

I know what you mean. The stand that my 150 gallon is sitting on is like this. So I beefed it up til I can build my own stand. The stands that are sold at the stores should be banned!!!

Well my friend is in school for architectural engineering, after seeing My lump of 4x4s I call a stand, he did some calculations and said the compression strength is well over 100,000 lbs!?!? Well I'd rather be on the safe side, my 55g stand is just like this but its only a 55g, wouldn't set my prized big tank on there full of my babies

Factory store bought stands terrify me
.lol my 72 and 75 gals have those thin paper weight stands lol I think I over built my 125 gal stand its super heavy lol...6 2x6s and 8 2x4s(vertical)at 3 foot high
.my boss has a 125 on a store stand ant it scares my to lean on it lol at 1400+lbs I think I have a valid concern lol

It is funny that you posted this i was going to make a bi-ch thread about lfs stands a few weeks ago when i was building my stand for my new tank. And the thing that is crazy about it is that tank manufactors will only give you a warranty for your tank if you use a factory stand or what not. I wouldnt dare use such a peice of crap like that even for a 55. Say nothing about that being a stand for a 2 hundred plus yikes. Thats alot of weight. I put car ramps in front of a stand i built once and drove my truck up on it with one side to check how strong 2x4 stands really are and diddnt even budge. Long post moral of the story lfs story stands suck suck suck suck suck and i might trust it for a 10 gallon thats it.
