For those who keep mixed batches of species...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, interesting observations....

I think seeing them in different areas is directly linked to the observations of seeing them in varied environments in the wild. I've seen some prefer sand bottoms over gravel, some high flow, some low flow, some deeper water, some in protected shallows........

PICS of the Mantilla Boggy!!! STAT! :)

We keep mixed species in a few growout tanks and they always mingle never see any real seperation by species only. I would think since you just added the other three rays that it will take sometime for them to all get used to each other. Like seeing that hot new girl for first time and being shy......

I forgot to mention that this only happens when lights are on.

With lights off the all group is much more active and it’s more difficult to understand it.

I noticed the same.. when the lights are off, they are all over the place..

When the lights go on.. the retics huddle together, and the hybrids go bury themselves together in the same little area..
