If he gets it down I bet it'll be a little uncomfortable when it comes out the back end.

IDK if you'd be able to. If you think you could, it'd be worth a try. With enough stress, the RTC may spit it out itself unless the pleco is already stuck and won't go either way.

Better hope the red tail catfish can swallow the pleco. Lots of time the pleco's spines get stuck and both fish end up dead.

I didn't think of that. That in fact would result in the same statement that "RTC cannot eat pleco". That'd be pretty sad but true too.

He was under a rock and I kept putting the net on did sides under it scared him enough for him to spit it out

Unfortunately I didn't think about it I was too concerned with him not dieing or lodging the spine in his throat or thru a gill
