Force-feeding Lions

My thought is that the nitrate spike may have caused some more long term damage, how long and how high were the nitrates?

I've tried mollies and even a clown, and nothing has caught his attention yet, and the clown bordered on suicidal mind you.
Are you crazy? Clowns are deadly because they take the stinging cells from the sea anemones they sit in and use them as protection. Even if the clown you gave him as never seen a sea anemone they lion might of still know it could mean death to eat it.

clowns have to be exposed to anemone's before they pick up the slime coating. and it does wear off.

u gotta do wat u gotta do to get dem to eat man good luck i might try dat
 wit mine

I've done it a few times now, and the lion seems to have become more active, and shows interest in his regular food again (though he still won't actually eat it).

A Lionfish will eat anything it can generally fir into his mouth. A clown is a potential meal, even though they have been next to an anemone, the lion would still eat it. More then one lion has died for a meal. How big is your Lion?? It could be you are offering things that are to big to swallow. Another possiblity is adding some live shrimp. Some real small ones might tempt him to eat.

how long have you had this lion? was it always a healthy eater? possible internal parasite if you haven't had it a awhile or if it was previously eating goldfish or some other "dirty" fish
