With Play Sand the water always had this haze to it even after many times cleaning it, but since adding pool filter sand, the water is crystal clear and a joy to work with during water changes. I also have some good size pacu who look like to throw up sand, with PFS the sand just drops back down fast.

Serious throw out the play sand right this minute and use Pool Filter Sand or something similar, you'll be thankful you did.

It's more expensive than playsand $12 vs $5, but well worth it and easy to clean.

No forget home depot or lowes, that is play sand not pool filter sand. I got pool filter sand from Leslie Pool Supply. Anny pool store should have it.

wow im getting some like asap!!

I bought from Leslies and it is simply labeled silica sand. I rinsed one bag but I got tired of it and just dumped remaining 4 bags in. After a day it cleared all up(I did rinse out the fine filter pad in my filters afterward).

The color is off white, great for the price.

Pool filter sand and play sand are the exact same thing, only difference is the grain/mesh size. Play sand is finer, pool filter sand is coarser. Unless the PFS you buy is the silica stuff, which has an offwhite/grayish tone to it.
