... then im like there was something i was supposed to do... hmm... %&$*!

I did it about a month ago with 8 cardinal tetra's at 4 bucks a pop...My CA/SA cichlids got some expensive feeders that day...

hehe well maybe I'm worse because I'm guilty of not floating my fish at all.I get em home and put em in the tank and Ive never lost any fish that way.I did this with my baby lei and small ST even.

My lfs is notorious for being a little on the high side they were a good 1.5" though all were large adults but I was still pissed at myself nonetheless.

ive done this before when i had my lil pacu way way back 2 years ago ...when i got it the size of a dime... and left the bag ontop of the water around 10:15 A.M. and while it was in the bag i watched and watched until i fell asleep in a matter of 10 minutes watching it.....then i woke up around 4 in the morning....so basically didn't do anything for the whole day till the next day i found out i left the lil guy in the bag....but when i looked he was still alive and well but i noticed it had a huge hole in the bag about the size of a 25 cents....and i saw it swimming in and out to go around the tank and in the bag?....:screwy: it was weird cuz it was following my group of tin foil barbs and then when it gets separated from them...he goes into the bag? but i just took the bag out to roam freely in the tank....BTW...this was in a 135 gallon my uncle had way back where he let me put my lil pacu in their...:) but he passed away around 14" after i believe a black out which lasted over 2 hours and my 2 oscars didn't make it neither :( crazy things can happen to us fish keepers

How many hours is that, Nile? Travelled back to my home in 20 hours with plenty of bags containing the fish. No fatalities.

It was 6pm when I got home and I get up at 5am... so about 11 hours.

I am happy to report that none of them have died from my lack of care :headbang2

i have done this more times to count!but the longest was i left 2 feeder guppies in the bag for about 6 days and they lived lol crazy strong feeders

Some guppies are tough as nails. My father quit using a tank for 5 months and "took out" all the fish, but missed 2 guppies. When he got the tank ready to go again he saw the fish and was very confused to say the least
