CJH and Pharaoh- Thanks for the info. It seems really strange to me that no once has recently tried formica. And I certainly understand the variation in quality of formica amongst manufacturers out there.

The thing I dont like about ABS sheets is the shine. Have you seen satin (dull) or textured?

I have seen textured ABS and it is slightly more dull but it's still a shiny plastic. I think the last project I used it on may have been smooth on one side and textured on the other. If I remember I'll see if I can get a look at the backside of it.
