Fossorochromis rostratus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes for thier size and speed they are very peaceful. At least the 9 inch male I had was it never bothered anything even fish half its size. Gourgeous blue color also.

Cyrtocara moorii get pretty large(10") and are really peaceful. The Copadichromis species(10") are fairly tame as well. Most of them are predatory by nature, some calmer than others.

I'm not sure I'd call F. rostratus "peaceful"... They're as territorial (or more) than lots of Haps. And grow to 14+".

Non-predatory and peaceful are two different things. They won't hunt other fish like, say, Nimbochromis. But babies they're not.

At least in my experience!

Otopharynx lithobates aka yellow blaze cichlids are very peaceful. Mine doesn't really get bothered much and he doesn't bother other fish. The most he does is chase the fry in the tank but never nips at them, and he is double their size. Nice blue color too.

As stated, all haps are predators to some extent. But Copadichromis should be much calmer than a lot of the ambush predators.
