I was just picking my daughter up from preschool when we found a tiny baby bird, it's partially feathered but it's eyes are closed, I have managed to feed it a tiny piece if kitten food as the only site I could find said that's safe... And that I have to feed it every 30 mins and keep it warm. Phoned the vet and they didn't know what to do with it and the RSPCA wasn't really interested n told me to put it back where I found it and hope for the best! Well I'm not going to leave it out to become cat food or bake in the sun so I need advice on how to care for it?

Here are some pics if anyone can give me an id? I'm in the uk south east if that helps

What you are feeding is fine. Get a turkey baster and feed it with small drops of water or soak small pieces of bread with water to give it moisture. If its eyes are opened, it has bonded with its true parent and won't feed from you. The minute it opens its eye, it will bond with whoever it sees as its adopted parent. The bonding will be strong and it will follow wherever you go. There is fun raising baby bird. Good luck.

In regards to warmth, I would put it in a box and place it on top of the refrigerator (towards the back). Usually warmer up there then the rest of the house. In regards to feeding, drug stores usually have small syringes with a narrow tip (usually in the baby medicine isle) GL
