so cal
So i realy want to add a jar to my tank. Wile spending the weekend at my moms house (about an hour away from my house) i went to one of the old LFS i used to frequent. they had 3 fish they called "austrillian arowana" they are about 4-5 inches long and they want $40 for them. I'm fairly sure they are jardinis.

So im thinking of grabbing one just after i leave to go home. but i'm a little concerned about my tank situation just because ive been away for 4 days. The tank is newly cycled (perhaps even still in the cycling phase) and contains 2 oscars about 2 inches each. The oscars had only been in the tank 2 days before i left for the weekend and were realy hot and cold when i left. I wonder if they were like that because of the new invironment though.

So my question is, will the jar be fairly resilant if my tank conditions are not pristine when i get home? or am i better off spending about twice as much when i know my tank is perfect?

thanks
-B

tank is 175 gal. The biggest temptation about it is that my LFS at home would have to special order it so it would cost alot more.

so you are cycling a 175g tank with 2 2" oscars? or the tank was cycled and you added the oscars? you might want to get some test kits and make sure.

and what do you mean they where really hot and cold? im confused but yea just get your tank ready not worth risking the jar then having to buy another one more expensive at home.

dont get 1 from ur LFS get 1 from Rich(Infinite Aquatic) he sells 4" for 25 bucks each hes in SoCal too,hes the vendor

Thanks hao that is what ill do. that way i can be sure that my tank is ready for it and not worry about it at all.
