You sure about that? Looks like the same strain as Petsmart. If you pet store orders from Segrest Farms, which being in New Orleans thats likely, then its the same strain that Petsmarts getting. Better picture might help but from what it seems is its not a Red Texas, sorry.
Segrest Farms being in Florida, my guess is that a good portion of the South East portion of the country gets their fish from there.

The Segrest Red Texas strain is Flowerhorn btw, not Red Texas. Putting that out there for anyone not already aware.

So i recently purchased 2 red Texas from petsmart and neither look like this fish or a red Texas. Pics aren't great but in person its a noticeable difference.. But like i said i could be wrong. I gave a friend.one.of my petsmart red Texas and i kept the other. Ill.give this some time and see what happens

There is a very big diversity in this strain of Flowerhorn, thats why you have so many that look different but ultimately the same.
Also for future reference , Red Texas are hybrids so they go in the Flowerhorn section.
