Found a SNAIL please help

Since getting my Assassins a couple years ago, I don't have as many snails as I once did, so my use of them as fish food has declined a bit. In times past, I would crush them against the glass daily, whenever one happened to venture too close to the surface, and most fish learned to come running; the bits were quickly devoured before they hit bottom. I still harvest a bunch when doing actual tank maintenance and feed them to my turtle; it's a dietary supplement that allows him to hunt them down and devour them over a period of time. A quiet reading session in the den is often punctuated by the sudden crunching of another hapless snail being found and eaten. Music to my ears!

I started doing this back in the 70's; if there were any negative effects I would probably have noticed them by now.

My angelfish love eating crushed bladder snails lol. It's funny to whatch 3 angels race from one side of the tank to the other just to east a tiny lil crushed snail. Even the snails love crushed snails hahaha.

What section should i put it in?

Loaches and especially Puffers will eat snails.

One of the nerites left an egg sac on a bamboo shoot just above the waterline. I hope they all live. Free snails! They're 4bucks each here!

1. Nerite snails require saltwater for the eggs to hatch.
2. Those aren’t nerite snail eggs, nerites lay little white eggs in the water.
3. Those are mystery snail eggs.
4. It looks like they’re not good since they’re crumbly looking since they have to stay moist in order to hatch.

When I had my ebjd he quickly learned how good snails tasted on his own. He could slurp them right out of their shells...even my assassins he slurped out...

I have an exceptional amount of “trumpet” snails...I don’t think they are trumpets as they are way smaller...that I cannot figure out how to get rid of...fish can’t eat them and I can’t keep assassins in the tank long enough to damage the population Bc my fish know how to snail slurp haha

this one you have does look like a rams horn...usually not a problem when kept with cichlids

Its a community tank but seems from everyones input the fish i have will do some damage ??. Thanks for the input!!

I leave zucchini in my tank over night and they don’t bother it...haven’t tried the lettuce
