The picture is tiny for some reason...can you post a better one?

It isn't a dragonfly larva though, I'm pretty sure. They are very bulky and thick, that thing looks skinny. Is it green? It might be a damselfly larva.

This is a dragonly larva.

damselfly larvae:

crush it and feed it to them.

My best guess is a damselfly. It won't develop into one though, since they need to crawl out of the water to pupate. I used to have a tank of water beetles and water scorpions, which ate these.

it looks very similar to the damsel fly. since the photo is from above i cant tell if it has wings, mine has little tiny wings. and the tail forks in three places but instead of being smooth like shown above they appear to be somewhat feathery. i havent seen it since the other day. iv got to do a small vacuum sweep today to get out some food they didnt eat, ill look for it then and hopefully it wolnt bite me if its still in there. iv got a lot of java moss in there so its got plenty of places to hide. i could always go buy a gallon a saltwater from a lfs and remover all the moss and do a salt dip. if its not in there and remains in the tank instead of being taken up with the plants i should be able to spot it pretty easily. its only a 10 gallon, its not like he's got an ocean to hide in lol
