your big snapper might eat the little one

Ohh it definitely would...or at the very least nip the tail and feet. I am not going to house them together...that is not until they are older...had a few drinks...and are listening to a little Marven ***, lets get it on lol:ROFL:

You have to love the appetite of snappers...I had this little guy in that bowl for most of the day...I just set him up in a 10gal and with in 5 min he was eating some reptomin :D

There is 3 white spots on the shell tho that I noticed now that the mud is off him. IDK what it is but it looks like on the 2 smaller ones that its missing the color...the bigger one looks a little soft-ish in the middle...what should I do...leave it?

so if I found the nesting site...would it be a big area of dug up dirt...or small holes here and there as they dug out.

Depending on what the eggs were laid in, it could be hard to find. If it was a mulch pile it would be a visible disturbance, in grass it wouldn't look like much other than maybe some small holes and roughed up grass.

You would have better luck looking in the wet areas for more hatchlings than looking for the nest site. Did the turtle have any egg sack left on it?

the area in my yard that I found it in is pretty wet when it rains...but only for a day or so. I didn't find anything else when me and the daughter went on our first turtle hunt lol. I poked and prodded any and all area that looked like it could have been something. There were some holes around too...but I think this was something digging in the ground...armadillo cat or coon...it tears up my garden too...but I guess now I could add snapping turtles to that list...and I didnt even think to look in the mulch in the garden...there is some prime mulched garden spots in the area too....

Nothing left on it but you can clearly see on the bottom where it was.

Tearing up the reptomin
