Like i said b4 he said the fish was fine this morn and it was eatin but dead when he got home. The tank has a filter and air pump so lack of oxygen doesnt sound right.
Found fish dead with mouth open. What caused this?

Ok so im home now and i thought of something. Cichlids love moving stones and could the the fish have choked on a stone?
any ideas on what made the fish die. these are what i thinked caused it.
1) stress caused by gt that led to death
2) choked on stone
3) NO CLUE

Well the filter is old and doesnt flow well so maybe its the filter. I'll tell him to buy another one
I had a pike cichlid do the same thing after a 6 hour long power outage. Any chance of a lengthy power outage stopping the airation and filtration?
The water would test "normal" for ammonia, nitrites & nitrates after the power came back!

thats true but the filter doesnt flow very good so he should buy a new one. idk anyone else? Im clueless right now
