Tank looks good but I think that stand is a little short, would be great maintenance wise but appearance wise a tall stand looks better.

Yeah Id have to agree. Great deal but use the money youre saving on a used tank to build yourself a nice stand. I dont think Id be able to have a tank a foot off the ground, especially one that large.

Its really not that hard to build a stand these days when youve got so many examples to follow from the diy section here or other sources on the web.

If you were using wood to build the stand, it really wouldnt be much more expensive to build the whole stand out of wood the height you want it than to build a smaller one to stack the metal stand on top. It would probably look a little bit funny too but if you dont mind the look, go for it.

The stand is the least of your problems. That poor beautiful fish is living on BLUE gravel lol Get him some dark sand & stacked driftwood caves as soon as you get that tank home!

New to this species of fish, why would sand and caves make a difference?

Not because of what species of fish it is (of which I don't even know) but just to make any fish in general feel more comfortable and more like he's in natural surroundings :-)
