I don't think you can sell American alligators in pet stores in any state. And in the states where you are allowed to keep them, you need a license to do it legally. The rules are different for other crocodilians.
a petstore in the local mall (concord nh) use to sell them like 5 years ago. but when i went to a guys house a few months ago he owned 3 aligators a little on and one 3ft and a 4ft. but he had a license he said. i would like to own one but not with any kids around ha

Great. As soon as the feds see that, it will be confiscated and killed.:irked:

A pretty well known pet store in my area had them a few months ago for $100 bucks a piece.

An LFS in my area sold baby gators for about a month. In my state, no [ermits are required for crocodilians as far as I know. I have checked local and state laws, and only thing that requires permits are large cat sushc as tigers/lions and bears. Everything else is up for grabs. :nilly:

The thing is the guy is publicly advertising a reptile that is illegal to own in Massachusetts

I should buy him and bring him to NH, not illegal HERE!

can i just dream for a minute that they stayed that small and were legal in cali.............................................dream over.

Very true...they're federally protected. However, since they're so doggone numerous down here in SW Alabama, our city has actually authorized a hunting season of sorts for the alligators. Only 50 permits are issued, and the "season" only lasts like a week or so, and ofcourse, there's a size regulation, though I forgot how big the gator actually has to be (it would come as no surprise I don't participate in this kind of thing).

In Texas you can own gators no permit needed.
In east texas they also have a hunting season for them.
And gator meat is AWESOME.
