from what I can find....it looks like a desert centipede, which is strange considering I live in missouri

I had no idea centipedes can bite? It's weird that not all of them have 100 legs, how can they be "centi" anything. That thing looks nasty!

Yes that's a desert centipede my friend. Where there's one there's certain to be more where it came from. Spray your room, BUT use discression around your tank(s). Over spray caqn and will get into the water and harm your fish.

A True story: I was on maneuvers while in the Marines stationed at Kaneohe Bay Hawaii (Island of Oahu) for 3 years. While we were in the field one week, one of my fellow Marines was bit (stung) on his left cheek by a centipede, while sleeping. He awoke screaming, waking up the entire bivouac contingency and was medivac'd out by helicopter to the Medical Hospital in Pearl Harbour. Before he left for the hospital, the entire left side of his face swelled up, causing his left eye to close due to swelling. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks and then released to return to our unit. When the initial incident occured, we had to locate the centipede to be able to get an antidote made for him. We found it still in his sleeping bag and we stuck it into a 7.72 mm (.308 cal) ammo box and sent it with our Navy Corpsman on the Medivac. Just to let you know how big some of these things can get, this one was about 9-10 inches long and was 1 " wide in the body alone, not counting the leg length. A real house mover guys.

omg they get big ahh-

I can't find it anywhere....I'm pretty sure my tinfoil barbs ate it. If I found one of these was 9 inches long in our house....I think I would crap myself
