Any idea what type of leech it is? I don't even know of people collect these, just curious.

I have no idea what that is but people do collect leeches. A few years ago some dude in the scorpion forums came out of the wood work in the other pets section. He would keep medical leeches in a fishbowl and just did water changes every so often because they are adapted to low quality, oxygen deprived waters or something. Anyways this dude would let them feed off of him every month or so. :sly: I was semi-tempted to obtain some for the morbid experience in itself.

Ah lol. Well since its from the wild, they carry some stuff that I don't really want to risk getting.

The bass is only 4 inches and is in a 20 gal till I get my 300 gal set up. Currently it's still being shipped so I don't even have the 300 gal yet lol. Once it gets too big for that he'll probably make a great meal

try sending the picture to your local wildlife department, they can identify it for you, and If you haven't seen one in the six years that you have been there it could be a big deal for them.

Nah it doesn't do much. They usually swim like eels if I remember correctly, but this one is just wrapping itself up and then straightening out over and over, which makes me believe its dying

Great idea about contacting someone, it could definitely be a problem. Our creek doesn't connect to a lake really, it was man made to go on a circle to prevent flooding all through our area. It's probably only a few miles long. Someone has definitely stocked it though. There are minnow and chubs, and the first time I fished there I got 2 sunfish almost a foot long. It's just strange to me, most the time the creek is dried up, it's hardly even 6" deep excluding some 3-4 foot water that runs for about 10 feet. None of it really makes sense lol

Learned its a mud leech. They used to be common in Ohio (where i live) but are now very hard to find. Kind of makes sense why I've never seen one before. This guy is large though lol. I might move it to my 5 gal and drop a tadpole in to see how it works.
