now that i am sure i am keeping my 90 and i am fairly sertan i want a comunity tank the only fish i have made up my mind i want is a four lined pictus cat. from what i have read they get up to a foot long and like a lot of places to hide with as big of a foot print as possible.

let me know if any of this is not true and i would love to see some full grown pics.

Yup and they can fight if needed for their territory :) I;ve seen two lately.. One was just over 12" at the lfs. and my buddy has one around 9" in his 125 g . And he has equally long whiskers :D

my 4 line loves 2 things......hiding and eating.

they do get to be about a foot long and do go psycho during feeding, so make sure the other fish aren't shy eaters or else you'll wind up with a very well fed pictus and not so well fed other fish.

i had a spotted but he was eaten by mr pacu. i still dont know how he got him down but he did.

Pacu's eat like pac man :) they CHEW :)

If you're talking about a Spotted Pictus Cat, they only get 6"-8" and they're really active and do good in a group. The 4-Line Cat hides a lot...A LOT and it's definitely a pig at heart. :D

Neither of the two large 4-lines i see hide much.. But they are not small and they are not shy .. But this is only two fish of the species.

i just read that the four lines do better in groups of three or four would that be too many for life in the 90 with other tank mates?

You will be fine with one. They may do better in groups , but the maintenence will be greatly increased in that size of tank. I have only seen people keep them in Groups of one :) But I haven't seen them much myself.
