FOWLR SETUP???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this is sorda true. Due to your wording im going to add thats its fine if your starting a tank. You should not add uncured LR to a tank that is setup and cycled with fish and what not.

You still do have to wait for the liverock to cure or cycle in your tank before you add any fish or inverts to the tank. I have read threads of nigers and pink tails turning on fish. But the blue chin or blue jaw, crosshatch, and sargassum triggers would be safe with a lion. The blue jaw trigger fish would be your best choice because it stays around 8" max. I have a sargassum triggerfish in with my russells lionfish.

thanks for all the help

i have one last question before i finalize my plan.

i have heard that if youre keeping a FOWLR tank that you dont have to cure the live rock and sand. is this true?

Whether its a FOWLR or reef, it does not make ANY difference....Its still needs to be cured...

its probably best to get all the rock you want for the tank and put it in at one time so you can avoid any fall backs or loss of fish.
