definitely a different definition from what i usually know about the word "frag"...

just a few questions:
1. how do you make a frag?
2. the "clear base" i see where the frag is stuck to... what is that?
3. how do you stick a frag to a base like that? glue?
4. do all "frags" grow successfully? how long/fast does it become mature?
5. why not grow the frag directly in the tank? why a separate grow out tank?
6. how do you handle frags (since some has stingers right?) ?
7. those sure are a lot of equipment for maintenance... how much do those cost?
8. in terms of electricity... what is your monthly expense for it for this hobby?
9. if you go "reef", are inverts and fishes required? or corals can stand alone?
10. shipment for online orders costs... isnt it too high? any tips?
11. how about for shipments that died on arrival?

some of my questions might be stupid or can be answered by "go read the stickies" (and i already have), but please bear with me... thanks!

cut coral animal from the colony.

frag plug, search google.

special glue that hardens in water or putty.

NO, some die from the fraging usually from infections. different corals have different success rates. depends on your definition of mature.

some people do. some people do(not a typo). why you might choose one or the other, some corals release toxins during fraging people may not want that in there DT tank, also frags are ugly

if you dont get stung during normal handling your should be fine during fragging, were eye protection, discard water, avoid injestion(especially with zoas)

corals can live alone

no you want your stuff to be alive when it gets to your door. paying extra so you dont get your fish sent wrapped in wet newspaper is worth it. buy corals alot at once. fish are more difficult because of ammonia spikes, probably just buy locally at a lfs or private hobbyist

varies by online retailer

The plugs its on or the glue to the rocks?
3. how do you stick a frag to a base like that? glue?
Superglue gel or epoxy
4. do all "frags" grow successfully? how long/fast does it become mature?
Also depends on what coral and your tank
5. why not grow the frag directly in the tank? why a separate grow out tank?
No real reason but to get optimum lighting and uncluter the main display
6. how do you handle frags (since some has stingers right?) ?
No stingers but some are very brittle
7. those sure are a lot of equipment for maintenance... how much do those cost?
THOUSANDS really i'm not jokeing this hobby is SPENDY
8. in terms of electricity... what is your monthly expense for it for this hobby? Mine went up 50$ a month
9. if you go "reef", are inverts and fishes required? or corals can stand alone? No but you might want some snails to keep algae down on the rocks
10. shipment for online orders costs... isnt it too high? any tips?
It is what it is.. Livestock is the worst but IT's ALIVE
11. how about for shipments that died on arrival?
Most places have a 6-12 hour DOA return type polocy but some need pics and a immidiate E'mail or phone call
