Frags? How about some pictures? xD

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks so much for the answers guys... i am going crazy over corals right now... grrr might even become my new tank... but i gotta do the research first since those "pets" are too precious to mishandle xD

thanks Myteemouse... hmmmm so no stingers huh?... how about with zoas?... and about the "glue", i have been around shops my area and i all i saw was the marine epoxy (the two part which you mix), is this it? havent seen any Superglue gel, is this only available online?... grrr branding in the asia pacific region is not the same as in your places guys...

regarding the expense, hmmmm "thousands" in corals give me the goosebumps but the $50 equivalent in the Philippines (around 2000pesos) i think i can handle...

i am looking forward to your post mr.reef24... thanks thanks all!!!...

some more question which pops to mind...
1. have you guys encountered a Philippine Saltwater guy here in the forums? it would be more cost effective if i go to him right?
2. okay, so "depends" on what corals... hmmm how about "beginner" corals? those that are easy to maintain? (your suggestion)...
3. i see some direct pumps blasting the waters in the tank, what's the rule of thumb in knowing what is "low", "medium" and "strong" water flow?
4. how about "feeding"? (please use the type of corals as i mentioned in item #2; your suggestion)

thanks thanks!!! eagerly awaiting your replies guys... thanks!

softies and zoos are the best and strongest but LPS are also very forgiving.
3. i see some direct pumps blasting the waters in the tank, what's the rule of thumb in knowing what is "low", "medium" and "strong" water flow?
Strong flow is just what you think STRONG. but don't direcclty blast any coral with a pump. Surly it will die..
4. how about "feeding"? (please use the type of corals as i mentioned in item #2; your suggestion)
I spot feed my acans and other LPS as for the SPS and sofites just do waterchanges and keep your levels good they will grow.

as for the glue. any superglue gel will work

zoos is when you frag them and cut them...when handling you'll be fine..

Thousands was for he entire set up.. I ge some of my coral frags for as little as 5-10 american..
I've ordered some online for 150$++
depends what you want.

hmmmm when you say frozen brineshrimp, does this mean as in "icy cold" or even "thawed"?
Frozen food needs to be "thawd"
take a chunk or a cube (depends how it's packaged) and use a bit of tank water to thaw it before you feed the tank..

hmmmm so i just gotta pick from a few and i guess i need to throw my ideas here first huh? xD

thanks for telling me that... but strong is still just an adjective and not too descriptive at that, but "direct", now that i understand... so i just gotta bounce the "flow" on the aquarium glass then?

hmmmm acans seem high maintenance and LPS and SPS seem to be just like plants? where does zoas come in? are acans = zoas?

thanks for the answer on the "frozen" question Mytee ^_~

hmmmmm, unless i get to know some Philippine peeps who does saltwater tanks, then i guess i will have to plunge into ordering online then? T_T got a bat experience from ordering computer parts online >.< i am just being careful is all...

Yes bounce off the glass or put the flow of a power head (pump) go OVER the corals or around the rocks and the indirect flow will catch the corals and make them happy..

Acans are LPS and also very forgiving.. just feed them once a week and you'll be good..
SPS are the most demanding of all corals they are really sensitive to light and chemistry..

thanks for the answer on the "frozen" question Mytee ^_~
No problem
