That's nice to know since I don't want an aggressive fish. I was told that irridescent can't get more than 12" and mine is already close to 15 inches. The last time I measured 4 months ago.

I have smaller irrisdescent but they have 2 silvery stripes in the body which differs to the bigger one. They seemto all be called pengasius catfish or related.

They're related to paroon. Both share the same genus, but your ID shark will probably get 2ft or over.. Most people will tell you 3ft. Paroon I would expect to get 5-6ft at least in aquarium conditions.

Sorry to redirect but since you know about fishes can you help me identify the gender of my two RDs in my URL link? I have a lot of people asking me what their gender but I don't know. The 10.5" is lighter color and the 8" is darker. I've posted the question but have not gotten an answer. or here's the URL:

While you are there can you also tell me what kind of fish the white cichlid is? Thanks!

Without venting them I think anyone who told you sex would be just guessing. Both are Midas/Red Devil hybrids though which are normally found in most pet stores. And the white cichlid pic is too small for me to tell. Might be a "pink convict" that just looks really white.

Not all paroons are agressive. Had one that was deskinning a smaller one eventhough well fed while others coexists peacefully
There is another type that resembles the Ir shark but on closer inspection, you can tell isn't. I forgot what the name is.
