FREE 72g BowFront - Restoration Project

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Update:

Did some cleaning on the tank this evening.. Will post pix when I get all the gravel removed :D

Got it all cleaned out.. Not sure if it was the bleach or meth that made my eyes burn, but I had to take a long break from working on it to let things vent and my eyes to stop watering.

Going to cut out the overflow box today, and start masking off the tank.

Might do some woodwork repair on the stand too, as some of the bracing underneath is broken. Needs some 'beefing' up..

i thinki would rebuild the stand.......... take about 5 hours including painting...and you can make one that is more sound and trustworthy

How the cleaning progress going?? Did you have a lot of hard water stains??? if so how did you get them off.

Im in the midst of a project and i cant seem to find anything to get the hard water stains off. Ive tried isopropyl alchol and then a razor right after and it doesnt work. CLR did seem to do it and i almost got the cops called on me when i asked a local store if they sold hydrocloric acid lol. White vinegar did good on the rest of the tank but the top 2 inches is a b**** lol.

I'd spend $60 for a 72g bowfront and a bunch of other junk... that is a good deal regardless of what you anticipated.

And wait... you took pictures of their home?!?!

They may be meth'ed out and dirty, but come on... they didn't get a free tank from your house, take pics of where you live, post them on the internet, and make fun of you.

Yeah seriously Miles, I mean come on. Crack heads thats cool, but the meth dudes, wtf that's low, you crossed the line.

I mean those people are just trying to make a living with an out of home business. I am sure they are busy making meth and don't have time to care for fish. So unbelievably ungrateful you are. I have to say Miles I expected more out of you. I mean who wouldn't want to risk their life in a blizzard driving for hours spending $60 bucks on gas alone. I know I sure do, me and my ladyfriend are going to make a date of it this weekend.

:grinno:

For serious though, good luck on this task-err quest to restoring the tank. Also good luck on captive breeding the dwarf lionfish (my new argumentative research paper topic is actually on this subject, the benefits of captive breeding aquarium fish).
