its a secret
well i just got offered a free ball python, a full set up tank and all. recentally with all the snake talk on here i was thinking of getting one, than this happened. i guess its a juvi, not too big, and it was her daughter/ daughters boyfriend, and they left, leaving her with the snake. i have a house and room for it shouldnt be a problem. what do you all think...

BTW i guess this would also be considered saving it casue the mom has no clue what to do with it...

i say keep it if u have the space to handle one.

well my GF just talked to the lady and she said its some kind of boa. i dont think im up to taking care of a boa..... wonder if i could pick it up, and trade it in at the loacal pet store for a ball python....

Run. Fast.

If you don't have any experience with snakes, getting one for free on a rescue is going to be a big mistake.

It could be sick, have parasites, etc, the current owner may tell you everything is fine just to get it off of their hands and pass a huge problem to you.

That "free" snake could need hundreds in vet bills. Not so free then....

If you really want a snake, find a good captive bred specimen from a breeder that will give you a well-started, healthy animal, that will make your first time snake experience a good one.

well its not very old. they just got it, and pretty much just ditched town and left, i was just thinking of getting it more for the habitat, and trading it in at my LPS for a BP or corn....

It will be better off in the pet store or in your hands than the poor mother whom doesnt know how to take care of it. I say go for it, at least it will have a second chance if it gets sold to someone else rather than it getting let loose by a fed up mom.

That'll work.
